Growing up in San Jose, The Catalyst was one of three major venues where our favorite bands and music acts would perform. In February of this year, 2024, I had the privilege of opening a sold-out show for J.Boog.

Experience the behind-the-scenes and empty venue during sound check is something I'll never forget. Something that resonates with me still, is how I embraced the nerves and worked with them. In the past, I'd have a few drinks, distract myself with forced energy, and try to play it cool in a way to suppress those jitters. This time, reminding myself how many hours I put in leading up to this moment, did none of the above. It was a powerful moment for me that I've brought into other aspects in life since.

In short, stay level and feel/embrace the emotions you experience in each moment. Good, bad, or questionable. It might have a bigger impact on your life than you realize.
